Baulift Simulator

Which hoist is the right one? Compare types, numbers and scenarios for the optimal construction site installation.

Baulift Simulator
Capacity Planning

What questions does the Baulift Simulator answer?

There are countless types of construction hoists. But which one is right for my site? The Baulift Simulator helps to compare different types, numbers, and scenarios in order to find the optimal installation for the project. Simulate your planned site installation with your schedule, quantities, and personnel requirements — so you always analyse capacities along the real requirements of the construction site.

Simulation

What is simulated?

/01

Calculate capacities

Using the real quantity and personnel volumes, the optimal number of hoists and types is calculated.

  • Optimal number of hoists
  • Capacities per hoist type
  • Adaptation to project phases
Simulation scenario 1: number of people and pallets per location
/02

Optimise utilisation

Are the planned capacities sufficient? Or are unnecessary costs incurred? Do we have enough reserves for disruptions?

  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Risk management for breakdowns
  • Buffer planning
Position of hoist 1 and hoist 2 over time
/03

Reduce waiting times

How long is the average waiting time for personnel during peak times? When can I load material?

  • Analysis of peak times
  • Optimisation of material logistics
  • Time savings for personnel
Simulation scenario 1: number of people and pallets per location Simulation scenario 2: number of people and pallets per location
How it works

When industry and research work together

A simulation for construction hoists, developed as part of an Innosuisse project. Partners: Amberg Loglay AG, FH Ostschweiz, Postbaulogistik, Alimak and Halter AG.

/01

Schedule

Use a schedule, ideally from a BIM2LOG workflow.

/02

Configuration and simulation

Configure hoists and construction site parameters. Create various scenarios. Run the simulation.

/03

Analysis and results

Make the right decisions based on the simulation results.

FAQ

Logistics Simulation

In collaboration with FH Ostschweiz, Postbaulogistik, Alimak and Halter AG, simulation models were created that reflect real project conditions.

How is it simulated?+
Based on your schedule, quantities and personnel requirements, scenarios are calculated that compare the number of hoists, types and waiting times.
Who is the application intended for?+
For site management, logistics planning and work preparation that want to dimension the vertical access of a construction site early and reliably.
What can I do with the results?+
You receive a solid basis for deciding on the number and type of construction hoists as well as for material logistics and buffer planning.
What is a typical use case?+
Dimensioning the construction hoists for a building project along the schedule — including peak-time analysis and material loading.
